In 2023, I took part in an embroidery project, led by Toni Buckby, called ‘an unstitched coif…’. Seventy-seven embroiderers from around the world took part, using the blackwork embroidery pattern of a 17th century coif held in the V&A collection. Each embroiderer followed the same pattern, but used their own unique technique, designs and stitches to create embroidered interpretations of the coif.
The embroidery pieces were exhibited in Sheffield and London in 2024 and acquired by the V&A.

It is delightful to see my embroidery piece, which spent the whole summer of 2023 with me, is now safely housed in the V&A collections! View the online record to learn more about the piece.
